Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Ltd. (YOFC) was established in May, 1988. It's being operated by China Telecommunications Corporation, Wuhan Yangtze Communications Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Draka Comteq of the Netherlands. YOFC is located at 4# Guanshan Er Road in the scenic East Lake Hi-tech Development Zone with the area of 170,000 m². It is the only specialized company in China which masters preform making, fiber drawing and cabling techniques for mass production.

Since 1992, the output and the sales of fiber and cable products of YOFC has been ranking the first in China for the successive 18 years. The total fibre the cable length is 15 million sheath-km with the total sales of more than 30 billion RMB. The products have been sold to more than 50 countries including USA, Japan, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and etc. Now YOFC has become the second largest fiber manufacturer and the fifth cable manufacturer in the world.
